Golf’s never boring—one minute I’m crushing drives, the next I’m knee-deep in bunkers. In this round, I took my new Ping G430 irons for a spin, leaned into a smoother swing, tested my 9-wood, and battled the greens with my still-questionable putting. From crisp shots to chaotic recoveries, it was messy, fun, and somehow added up to a 99.

Let’s go. 🔥⛳️

📊 Round Stats Breakdown

Here’s a quick look at how this round played out:

🏌 Score: 99
🎯 Putts Made: 45
🚀 Fairways Hit: 4/13
🎯 GIR (Greens in Regulation): 8/18
📉 Handicap: 33

My Takeaways

 What Went Well

  • I gained +2.5 strokes on short chips (0–25 yards), averaging just 10 feet from the hole — finally starting to feel confident around the greens.

  • My approach shots from 150–200 yards actually gained me strokes this round, which is a big step forward.

  • Driving distance was solid — I averaged 194 yards off the tee and hit a 252-yard bomb, gaining nearly a stroke just from distance.

  • My driving game is improving overall — I was +2.1 strokes better than my usual average.

  • Approach play as a whole improved by +6 strokes compared to recent rounds — progress!

  • I gained +1.3 strokes around the green, which is my best short game performance so far.

  • Approaches from the fairway felt good — I gained +0.4 strokes there.

  • Mentally, I stayed a lot more patient and focused. Playing smooth, not hard, really helped.

🚧 What Needs Work

  • Putting is hurting me — I lost -8.8 strokes overall, with -11.2 strokes just on putts inside 10 feet. That’s brutal.

  • I only had 1 one-putt and a painful 8 three-putts — definitely need to clean that up.

  • My long chips (25–50 yards) cost me -1.4 strokes, so I need to practice those awkward in-between distances more.

  • I struggled from the rough again, losing -1.3 strokes on those approach shots.

  • My 200+ yard approaches lost me -1.6 strokes — still not confident with those clubs.

  • Only 36% of fairways hit, and I missed left 64% of the time — I lost -1.5 strokes on accuracy alone.

  • I weirdly lost -0.9 strokes on straight holes — maybe I’m overthinking the "easy" ones.

  • My putting has been consistently the weakest part of my game. I’ve got to fix it if I want to keep breaking 100.

🔥 Biggest Wins to Work On Next Round:

Short putts (0–10 ft) — biggest stroke killer
Avoiding 3-putts — focus on first putt distance
Tee accuracy — too many misses left
