⛳ Round 22 Recap: The Good, The Bad, and the Triple Putts

Breaking down my game—what’s improving and what still needs work.

👋 Hey,

If you’re chasing lower scores without pretending to be a pro, welcome back. This round had its moments, but the numbers don’t lie—still plenty of work ahead. Here’s the breakdown, what’s clicking, and what made me want to snap my putter in half. Let’s get into it. 👇

Tried my best, and the clubs weren’t the problem.
In this round, I kept my cool off the tee, found some rhythm with the irons, and tried to stay patient around the greens. Putting? Yeah... still a crime scene.

📊 Round Stats Breakdown

Here’s a quick look at how this round played out:

🏌 Score: 99
🎯 Putts Made: 42
🚀 Fairways Hit: 6/14
🎯 GIR (Greens in Regulation): 7/18
📉 Handicap: 33

My Takeaways

 What Went Well

  • Driving accuracy and distance are trending up
Hit 6 fairways and launched a 318-yard drive. 50% fairways is a win for me right now.

  • No penalties
Always worth celebrating. I kept the ball in play all day.

  • Par 3s were solid
    Scored 3, 4, 3, 3. Even parred the last one with a GIR and a two-putt.

  • Approaches from the tee box (par 3s) were decent
Gained +0.5 strokes, better than average.

  • Improved long putts (25–50 ft)
Gained +2.6 strokes. Distance control on long putts is coming along.

🚧 What Needs Work

  • Short putting is wrecking me
Lost -7.2 strokes on putts inside 10 feet. Had 7 three-putts and only one one-putt all day.

  • Inside 100 yards needs help
Lost strokes on chip shots, especially from 25–50 yards. Left myself way too far from the hole.

  • Fairway approach shots
Still a pain point. Missed 11 greens in regulation, mostly short.

  • Greenside confidence
Only converted 1 up & down out of 11. Need to simplify and practice more bump-and-run shots.
