⛳ Round 19 Recap: Do New Irons Help?
Breaking down my game—what’s improving and what still needs work.
🏌♂ Welcome to Roundtable Golf Club!
👋 Hey,
Whether you’re trying to break 100 or just figuring out your swing, welcome to Rookie Swing. This isn’t about pro-level advice—it’s just what actually happened out there. The stats, the struggles, the small wins. Here's how today’s round went down.👇

🎥Feature Video: Do New Irons Actually Help High Handicappers?⛳
If you’ve ever gone from “this might be the round” to “why am I in every bunker on the course,” you’ll relate to this one. Round 19 had it all—early nerves, missed putts, a surprise birdie, and one of the cleanest shots I’ve ever hit. No warmup (again), floodlights on, and new irons in the bag. I set out to break 100 and actually pulled it off—but not without the usual chaos. Here’s what really happened.
Hit play and let’s roll. 🔥🎥

📊 Round Stats Breakdown

🎯 Greens in Regulation (GIR): 9/18

My Takeaways
✅ What Went Well
Short Game (+1.6 SG, 0–25 yds) – Gained strokes for the first time. Clean contact around the greens.
Lag Putting (+1.8 SG, 25–50 ft) – Solid touch. Limited damage on long putts.
Driving Accuracy (50%) – 7/14 fairways. Stayed in play, no big misses.
Approach Progress (+7.8 SG vs. avg) – Still lost strokes, but huge jump from previous rounds.
🚧 What Needs Work
Short Putting (-6.7 SG, 0–10 ft) – 7 three-putts. Missed too many inside 10 feet.
Putting Overall (-3.9 SG) – Poor speed and reads throughout.
Fairway Approaches (-1.5 SG) – Lost strokes from clean lies. Still hesitating.
150–200 yd Approaches (-2.0 SG) – Off target and short too often.
Chipping Proximity (28–35 ft avg) – Not close enough to save strokes.
Sand Saves (0%) – Couldn’t get up-and-down from bunkers.

⛳ My Next Steps to Breaking 100 Consistently
🔥 Biggest Wins to Work On Next Round:
✅ Keep clubbing up on approaches—big SG gain from 50–100 yds
✅ Tighten chip proximity—averaging 28–35 ft leaves tough putts
✅ Lock in short putts—7 three-putts, mostly from inside 10 ft
