⛳ Round 34 Recap: A Tale of Two Nines

The front 9 gave me hope. The back 9 brought me back to earth.

🏌‍♂ Welcome to Roundtable Golf Club!

👋 Hey,

Golf has a way of keeping things balanced.
The front nine felt calm, confident, and (mostly) in control. The back nine? A full-blown reminder that this game doesn’t let you coast. Oh and did I mention the sand 😅

Let’s break it down. 👇

🎥Feature Video: When Hope Met Reality⛳

Two different golfers showed up this round — both of them me.

Front nine, I was finding fairways and staying patient. Back nine, I couldn’t buy a green in regulation, but somehow the putter decided to show up.

Hit play and let’s roll. 🔥🎥

📊 Round Stats Breakdown

Here’s a quick look at how this round played out:

My Takeaways

🟢 Front 9 Highlights

SG: +0.5 | Score: 44

 What Went Well

  • Driving was sharp. +1.1 SG off the tee, with 3/7 fairways hit and strong accuracy.

  • Iron play clicked. +0.3 SG on approaches, with 5 greens hit and better distance control.

  • Short game recovery. +0.5 SG — chipped it close more often from inside 25 yards.

🚧 What Needs Work

  • Putting inside 10 feet. -1.4 SG — nothing kills momentum like missed short ones.

  • 0/4 up-and-downs. Too many chips left outside 6 feet for easy saves.

🧠 Key Lesson: I’m starting to trust the swing and keep the ball in play — now it’s about converting those chances.

🔴 Back 9 Reality Check

SG: -3.6 | Score: 49

 What Went Well

  • Putting saved me. +2.2 SG — rolled in from mid-range and avoided most 3-putts.

  • Stayed mentally patient. Even with tough lies and missed greens, no blow-ups emotionally.

🚧 What Needs Work

  • Approach play fell apart. -3.0 SG — only 1 GIR and most misses short.

  • Driving inconsistency. -2.2 SG — missed both left and right, average drive just 167 yds.

  • Short game struggles. -0.6 SG — couldn’t get up-and-down from anywhere (0/8).

🧠 Key Lesson: The putter finally showed up, but the long game disappeared. Golf giveth, golf taketh away.

🔥 Biggest Wins to Work On Next Round:

Club up & aim center on approach shots

100-150 yard approaches — they’re still my biggest stroke-loser.

Short chip drills for proximity

Simplify short chips — commit to one safe shot and get back inside 6 feet.
Nail short putts to avoid 3-putts
